Sunday surprise

I don’t think anyone was surprised by the Senate vote yesterday, but I know a lot of us are very disappointed and, even more, worried about the state of the nation.

So let’s enjoy some fun surprises and take our minds off it all. Please.

I’ll teach you to sneak around doors!

  1. Nice antidote to the scandalous senate.

I am once again reminded of the usually-truncated pledge by Interior Secretary Carl Shurtz (1872): My country right or wrong; when right to be kept right; when wrong to be set right.

It’s going to take a Blue Tsunami to set it right this time.

    • I fear for Lisa Murkowski right now. Her Twitter and Facebook pages have been set upon by Trumpettes threatening her with rape and death. This is the world we have now; I pray it can be set right.
I heard the fundraising site for Susan Collins’ opponent crashed after the vote because so many people were trying to donate. That gives me some hope for Maine, but I don’t see it happening here unless liberals show up in the same proportion they do in the letters to the editor I receive. Still, I hope.

  2. Death threats? Are these fools and idiots unable to learn that violence solves nothing–it only begets more violence. But I guess they didn’t have a parent who was wise enough to know this truth and teach it to them. Either that or maybe it is a lesson they don’t want to learn.

  3. And now I have just read that Christine Blasey Ford is unable to return to her home because people are threatening her. This is getting worse and worse.

    • As it was, she and her husband had to have their kids in another undisclosed location due to death threats.

So grateful we live in a time when that sort of thing is becoming commonplace. (So much sarcasm.)
