Sunday days

“The 12 Days of Christmas” is, I’m sorry, horrible and boring. What’s not boring is (good) parodies of said song.

The first parody I remember loving was Bob Rivers Comedy Corp’s “12 Pains of Christmas” (the whole “Twisted Christmas” album rocks, to be honest, especially “The Chimney Song (There’s Something Stuck Up in the Chimney).”

Is it just me, or does the one on the right in the screen grab look an awful lot like Kristy McNichol?

Longtime followers know I’m also a huge Chris Mann fan. I mean, really, who couldn’t love a classically trained vocalist who’s hilarious? While the pandemic is no laughing matter, he somehow makes it more bearable. And now you know where to go if you need toilet paper or rubber gloves.

If anyone’s thinking of getting me that sweater, don’t bother. I think I’m allergic to ugly.

But no listing of parodies would be complete without the version from another one of my obsessions, Straight No Chaser.

I have a little dreidel …

Now I can rest. Except that that song is in my head … dear Lord, make it stop!

  1. What a great post! By the time I’d listened to the first two I was thinking “I can’t listen to that song a third time.” But I did and I’m so glad. It was hilarious.
