I’m pretty new to the fandom of Jon Batiste, who was part of the team responsible for the score for “Soul,” which won an Oscar. When I listen to him, I get a sense of what would happen if Ray Charles and James Brown had a baby. Yes, that’s a good thing as far as I’m concerned.
