Sunday singy

I know a lot of people are confused about the whole mask thing, and it doesn’t help matters if you’re in a place like Arkansas where legislators outlawed mask mandates (sigh).

Some of us, though, will continue to wear our masks in public. It’s not a political statement (nor is getting the shot, which you should if you haven’t already); it’s because some of us are immunocompromised or around others who are, and because as long as a very dangerous variant is around, it’s better to be safe than sorry. With fewer targets around, the virus has nowhere to go.

It’s not really that complicated. I think.

  1. I appreciated the GOP governor of West Virginia saying, “If you’re not vaccinated, you’re part of the problem.”

Also appreciated a reference this morning to the State Legislature of Darkansas.

  2. I’m fully vaccinated, but now I worry that if I go into a business without a mask, someone will think I’m one of those defiant you-know-whos who remains unvaccinated and unmasked because both violate their constitutional rights. But if I wear a mask, someone will wonder why because, after all, I said I was vaccinated. Unfortunately my parents taught me to care about what other people think, and the lesson stuck.

    • I understand what they think, and why (sort of), but I’m still going to wear my mask regardless of them. They want to whine about individual rights, well, I’m exercising mine, and it doesn’t affect them. I’m getting to the point that I refuse to bow to their every whim and whine. If they want to be idiots, it’s on them.
      Damn, I’m getting cranky. 😏
