Some people really get into the decorating spirit for Christmas. I admire those who have the time and energy to make such elaborate displays outside, but you won’t catch me doing it. Still, they’re having fun and hopefully aren’t creating a traffic hazard or leaving lights and music on 24/7. It’s Christmas!
But a week from now, you’ll be looking at all those Christmas displays and likely be grumbling, “Holiday’s over, take them down!” And this is why I don’t do outside decorations. If I have to take something down not that long after putting it up, it’s not getting put up in the first place. Bah humbug!
I’ll still enjoy what someone else did. But do it myself? Nah.
You and I have the same approach to outdoor decorations, Cuz. Must be a family thing.
Same for indoor decorations, BTW. We have year-around decorations that have nothing to do with a particular season.

The crazy cat lady Christmas cat tree is still set up on the filing cabinet in my office! Luke was still alive when I made it, and I didn’t want to bring it home because he’d probably destroy it. If I took it out of the office now, it would seem weird. 😂

One of my father’s friends had a two foot tall silver artificial Christmas tree with blinking red lights on it. It looked nice until his cat attacked this tree and tried to destroy it.

I’m with you. Occasionally I’ll tie big red bows on the porch and garage lights, but I haven’t even done that this year. As for those awful inflatable decorations, I hate the piles of “laundry” so many people have in their yards every day. I’m the Scrooge on this block. So be it.

They look tacky most of the time, but especially uninflated. When I went to the pharmacy the other day (around noon), I saw a few that hadn’t been reinflated, and they just looked sad.

Did you see the video of the bear attacking a large inflatable reindeer?
