I was really struggling to come up with a video for today when I came upon Tim Minchin’s “The Aeroplane.”
I’d seen Minchin a few times before, nearly always comedic pieces on the BBC. (remember, I’m a bit nutty for the U.K., so have Brit Box and AMC+, which includes BBC America), but this was completely different from what I’d seen before.
Minchin’s an Aussie who is known primarily for his comedy/cabaret act (he’s also an actor in movies and on stage). But as we know, the funniest people often have the greatest capacity for deep emotion. (Robin Williams, anyone?) I’ve got a new perspective on Minchin now. Enjoy “The Aeroplane.”
Nice. Reminds me a little of John Denver. His stuff really touched me.

John was a friend and I still miss him.

I’d never heard of Minchin, and would never have guessed these two songs were by the same person. I doubt I’ll forget him now!

Out of town this weekend so I have no clever comments. (Not sure how those are related but I don’t make the rules.)
