I’m nursing some bruises, scrapes and a lovely bump today after falling over the furry one’s pet steps. This is one of the dangers of being short and klutzy; makes it an iffy proposition to turn off the ceiling fan if you have to climb atop something to do it, especially if you’re a little prone to losing your balance. The furry one, of course, was really worried … about his steps … and me, too, but his steps first.
So to make me feel better, some funny falls (again, I’m thrilled the boy has no opposable thumbs with which to operate a camera). Nothing too side-splitting, though … it kinda hurts to laugh right now.

Like me, it appears this guy is a master at finding the most slippery spot on the ice.

Yes, this would be me if I decided to dance on a table … even getting up on the table could be comedy gold.

For some dance moves, a spotter is recommended … or at least a chiropractor on speed-dial.

We’ve all been there … and it always seems to happen when you’re at the best part of the dream. Falling to the floor is not the best way to wake up.

Who knew this year’s fall colors would be black and blue?

I am tempted to quote the Fats Waller–Andy Razaf song “What Did I Do To Be So Black And Blue?”.

The Stones’ “Paint It Black” has been running around in my head since yesterday … I’m taking it as a sign. 😉

Should the clumsy person with the stove be nominated for a Darwin Award? The man who fell on the icy sidewalk reminds me of the musician’s joke about the icy sidewalk chord: If you don’t see sharp, you will be flat. The person who tries to dance on a table reminds me of a story told by the actress Marina Sirtis. She said that her father was from Greece and he emigrated to Great Britain and married an Englishwoman. As a result, Sirtis was half Greek and half British. According to her, this meant that she would jump up on a table to dance like her Greek ancestors but since she was half British, instead of dancing, she would just stand there on top of the table without moving.

From the looks of it, stove girl neither died nor neutered herself, so she’d be ineligible for a Darwin … but I have faith she’ll take herself out of the gene pool before too long …
Hadn’t heard that story about Sirtis, but I can definitely imagine it! 😀
