Well, summer’s sort of over. It’s autumn according to the calendar, but it’s still in the 90s as I write this, and I’m still sitting in the dark with the air conditioner on high to keep from sweating my butt off (but if that were actually possible …).
Still, leaves started falling over the past few weeks. I’ve got fewer leaves in my yard so far this year since the pecan tree took a header, so even if I had a kitty right now, I’d have very little for that critter to play in outside. I’ll just have to live vicariously through these fuzzbuckets.
I don’t trust these leaves … I think they’re in league with the squirrels.

Even lion cubs love playing in leaves. Don’t laugh or try to take them away, though, if you value your life.

Cats and leaves reminds me of the fireman discussing all the calls he gets to rescue cats stuck up in trees. “Can you imagine how many cat skeletons we find up in those trees?”

Poor babies! Especially since they could get down if they didn’t get freaked out and forget how to cat. 💀🐺

At least dogs don’t climb trees or get stuck in them. When one of my cats did get stuck in a tree, I got some raw beef and waved it at the cat to persuade it to jump out of the tree. The cat could smell the meat and it meowed Angrily at me for daring to tempt it to jump out of the tree. Apparently, the cat thought I was supposed to get out the ladder and climb up in the tree to rescue it in person. After several minutes of persuasion, the cat finally jumped out of the tree and landed on me (it almost knocked me down). Then the cat climbed down me to the ground and walked away angrily in a really bad mood. But at least I rescued the cat and got it out of the tree.

Luke got stuck in a tree once. Julian (the guy who brought the crazy boy to me) had to climb halfway up and pull him down. He was NOT happy. 😾
