Sunday so full

I wasn’t feeling so hot Thanksgiving, so didn’t have my dinner till Saturday (Cornish game hen with onion-bacon rice stuffing). As I write this, I’m full. Yeah, these cats know what I’m talkin’ about …

And it would have to be red velvet …

Pretty much how I feel right now even though I didn’t eat nearly that much.

Human, fetch me a piece of that pumpkin pie. And don’t forget the whipped cream this time!

  1. We enjoyed Thanksgiving in Portland (the one on the left) (politically as well as geographically) with family and some new folks. Sitting across the table from the parents of the boy-friend connected through in-laws and cousins, we respectfully observed the universal injunction against talking politics at the family Thanksgiving table. Then, somebody made a comment about SCROTUS, and we were off to the races, competing over who was the most disgusted with him. Good times. Putting the Thanks back into Thanksgiving.

    • I think everyone who hasn’t been taken in by him and those who have seen the light (at last count around 67%) is disgusted by him. Hopefully the discussion was kept somewhat to a minimum to keep down indigestion. 🤢

  2. I ate too much pie. I’m on a Thanksgiving detox diet right now – salad and yogurt. I definitely identify with the first cat – “When you’re full and someone brings out a cake.”

Every now and then I had to redirect a conversation that started to get political (“Mom, have you tried this pie?”).

  3. Now I’m wishing I’d gotten away from my son’s house with more dessert! A bit of turkey, stuffing, and gravy was all I took … and now suddenly I’m ready for another round!

  4. I will have to stop reading this because it is making me hungry and reminding me of what a good meal I did eat on Thanksgiving day although I was at work that day.

  5. One of my co-workers (a retired Air Force sergeant) sarcastically refers to CNN as the “Communist News Network”. He prefers to watch Fox. No I do not discuss politics with him.
