Yesterday was my birthday, and today is my oldest brother’s. That means a lot of self-reflection … and a lot of chocolate … something has to fuel my sense of humor.
Well, that and animals freaked out by their own reflection. Just because. I can’t blame ’em, though. I have the same reaction when I see myself in the mirror.

What a neat job: teasing lions and tigers with a mirror. How about poking a bear with a sharp stick.

That job didn’t pay enough. 😉🐻

Happy Birthday Brenda. My oldest sister and my youngest sister’s birthdays are four days apart in April. My other sister and my mother’s birthdays are three days apart in December.
I did let my dog see his reflection in a mirror once. The look on his face said, “Is that me?” Then he lost interest in it and walked away.
Whenever I see pictures of myself, I always wonder how women can stand to sit there and look at someone as plain, homely, and unhandsome as myself.

Thanks, Laurence! All my brothers and I, and my niece, have birthdays in January. We could call it looperary. 🎂
Luke wasn’t all that interested in his reflection. He knew he was beautiful.
And I’m sure you’re not homely.

Lots of badly needed chuckles here. My face hurts from smiling so much.
Happy Belated Birthday! (Would you believe that I have four siblings, all married, all with children and grandchildren, and there still isn’t a single birthday in July.)

Ha! Thanks, PT.
I spoiled my mom’s evil plan to have a kid in each week of January by coming two weeks early. The last week is bereft of Looper birthdays. 😉

Your mother’s family planning does not sound evil to me. It actually sounds sensible and good. As for me, I am the oldest and the first child. I was born ten months after my parents got married.

My oldest brother was born 15 months after my parents wed, the next brother a year and a week later, the next two years after that, and me four years after that. I was nearly my oldest brother’s 7th birthday present. 🎂🎁

My oldest sister was born when I was three. My second sister was born eighteen months later. My mother decided that she wanted to stop there with three children. About one month after my mother came home from the hospital with my first and oldest sister, I innocently asked my mother with all of my three year old wisdom, “Mommy why don’t you take this old baby back to the hospital and trade her in for a new baby?” I have three younger sisters because my mother unexpectedly became pregnant when I was ten. My third and youngest sister was born just before I turned eleven.

My mom stopped once she got a girl. 👸🏻 Took seven years, but that’s OK.
