Sunday solidarity

Yesterday, on the 20th anniversary of the Westside Middle School shooting in Jonesboro, Ark., millions marched in the U.S. and around the world to call for reform to stop bloodshed in our schools and our streets. Most aren’t asking for a total ban on guns, despite what the gun lobby wants you to believe, but instead common-sense regulations, and ones that keep military-style weapons out of civilian hands.

The gun lobby picked the wrong people to mess with. As Cameron Kasky said Saturday, “To the leaders, skeptics and cynics who told us to sit down, stay silent and wait your turn: Welcome to the revolution.”

You can watch some of the most moving speeches here, and enjoy some of my favorite signs right here, right now.

It’s funny because it’s true. 😉

When I was in school, we had tornado drills all the time, not active-shooter drills. Why have we come to this?

For the Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans among us, this brings a tear to the eye (as it did for Buffy creator, Joss Whedon).

According to Newsweek back in 2016, the likelihood of knowing someone who has been shot is nearly 100 percent. I personally know many people who’ve been shot, and two who were killed.

As many protesters as he’s supposedly paid over the years, he should be broke by now.
