I’m afraid Memorial Day is to our fallen service personnel, active-duty military, and veterans, what “thoughts and prayers” are for the victims of school shootings.
Meaningful legislation would be a welcome substitution for both.

Have you never heard of either Green Fields of France or Eric Bogle before? I first heard this song in 1980 when a friend of a friend loaned me a cassette tape with this song on it as sung by the late Bill Maraschiello.
