Sunday salute

Tomorrow, we’ll remember those who served. I’ll honor my grandpa, who served on the USS Hope in World War II, and my uncle, who served aboard the USS John F. Kennedy. For them and everyone else who’s served, my deepest appreciation. These salutes are for you!

It’s an otter honor to breathe the same air as heroes.

  1. In the Corps, we believed Veterans Day was scheduled for November 11 to give Marines a day to sober up from the November 10th USMC birthday.

  2. Speaking of Laugh-In and Veterans Day, did you know that Laugh-In’s co-host, Dan Rowan, was a fighter pilot in World War Two? After he was discharged, Rowan discovered that people would actually pay him good money to listen to him tell jokes. This was especially true after he teamed up with Dick Martin. Rowan played the “straight man” to Martin’s foolishness.
