Longtime readers know I’m a bit nuts about Queen, especially “Bohemian Rhapsody.” I was just a kid when it came out, and it took me years before I really appreciated the masterful musicality behind it.
Yesterday I was puttering around on YouTube and found this version from the Prague Cello Quartet. I think this may be my favorite instrumental version yet. Just the thing for a Sunday.
And of course, I have to include the original.
What a sublime break in my Sunday chores. Thanks.

I love hearing a cello played well. I think it’s not nearly as appreciated as it should be.

I appreciate cellos although I don’t play one. Recently on YouTube, I posted some comments about “Basso Ostinato” by Anton Arensky. Someone who responded said that I must be a cellist and I gleefully disappointed them. No this person hasn’t posted any more comments about “Basso Ostinato”.

Did you see the video of five acoustic string bass players performing the Pink Panther theme? This quintet is led by a bass player from Croatia named Bozo Paradzik.
