I never thought I would miss our big snow/ice storm, but the last few weeks have made that a reality. I wasn’t built for heat. With cold, I can put on more layers and blankets. With heat … no one needs to see what happens. Rain is supposed to be in the forecast for much of this week, so I’m hoping it will cool things off a bit.
If not, I guess I can make National Ice Cream Day (today) last all week. Now, where’s that Yarnell’s?
One day I hope I can be as happy as this piglet eating ice cream. Image found on Pinterest.
I’ve seen no ice cream. Promise. I kept my eyes closed the entire time. Image found on Pinterest.

Why, I think I’m experiencing unmitigated joy! Lovely! Image found on Pinterest.
Yes, taunt the squirrel, but don’t give the tree rat ice cream. Then the rest of them will want some. Image found on Pinterest.
OK, little otter, you can have it. But I’m takin’ the half-gallon of Yarnell’s. Image found on Pinterest.
I rescued this from the clutches of an otter; I pointed him toward some ice cream sammiches. GIF found on imgur.

Silly kitty, that’s not ice cream … it’s just a psychedelic snow cone. But you’ve got the right idea. Image found on Pinterest.
It’s cold! But it’s delicious. More, please! Image found on Awesome Inventions.

For ice cream & other frozen treats – yay!
Snow & ice? No. I grew up in it in Erie, PA, so am totally good with shoveling. But, after shoveling this year, I fell from ice. Had 2 months of physical therapy from that.
Cooler temps I’ve appreciated with the rain. ☺️
Take care
Physical therapy is no fun. I didn’t stop crying until about six weeks in to three months of the stuff. Fall is best for me. I prefer temps between 50 and 70.
After a few weeks at Specialty Othopedics (the clinic where my ortho surgeon worked), I got to know her pretty well, and she was sweet and funny, but still tough. When my neurologist a year or so later sent me to a different PT, I was disappointed, and I had to pay more. But I did get pretty good massages.
Saw a notice the other day of Kraft’s Mac and Cheese ice cream. As much as I like both, the combination seems ill-advised. I’m waiting for pepperoni-pizza ice cream.
Reminds me of a dog I had decades ago. Took him to the ice cream shop, got him a scoop of vanilla in a cup, set it down on the sidewalk. Instead of licking it, he picked up the entire scoop, and then was perplexed. It was cold, but tasted good, and he didn’t want to put it down.
Luke was slightly curious at first, but since chicken is my main protein, he wasn’t interested. He’d eat a little piece of raw fish if you had it, or a bite of perfectly cooked pork loin. He was very picky, but I loved that jerk.
I'm a retiree in his seventies. That may not be significant to many, since there is a bunch of us Baby Boomers around. However, in the year 2,000, when I received a diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma, I expected to be dead in three to five years.

I’ve seen some odd ice cream combos. There’s a pint I’ve had my eyes on that has orange blossom, but I’m wary of the olive oil it’s paired with.

Ha! I gave Luke a tiny dot of vanilla ice cream once and he decided never again to be around when I had ice cream. One lick and he was put off.

Many years ago I had a cat who loved to eat ice cream.

Some do. Luke wasn’t one of them. Of course, he rarely got human food, so he wasn’t much interested unless I had some raw fish.

A couple of mine (kitties) think they want anything I am eating 😉.
