You know how I know it’s spring? I’m sneezing. Endlessly. My yard was mowed Saturday, and then I had to drive to the pharmacy to pick up my meds and grab some lunch; I’ve been sneezing and itching mostly nonstop since then. I love the flowers and other growing things that come with the season. The pollen, though? Just go away.

A note here for my dear friend Sarah, who had to say goodbye to her sweet Josie this weekend. Josie and her feline brother Charlie were great company for me while I was convalescing at Sarah’s house. I’d often wake up and find Josie napping on the end of the bed. She was the sweetest little dog you could meet, and was loved to the very end (and still is).

I'm a retiree in his seventies. That may not be significant to many, since there is a bunch of us Baby Boomers around. However, in the year 2,000, when I received a diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma, I expected to be dead in three to five years.
