Sunday stifling

As I write this, I’m sitting in Sarah’s house, where it’s not 95 degrees inside and humid (the dehumidifier has been turned on on my portable AC at my house, but it will take time for it to cool down enough; it was 101 when I left Friday night). I’ll be ordering a shade cloth to cover the bedroom window to cut down the heat, and will plant a tree in front of it this fall.

The heat has been getting worse each year, and I’ve been lucky enough the past couple of years to be able to stay with Sarah when it got too bad.

But sure, climate change isn’t happening. Sorry, I get cranky when it’s hot. I need to think cool thoughts.

The original cool cat in my life on top of my mom’s fridge. Which is why I’ve always kept cereal boxes on top of mine.
Where do you keep the good stuff? I’m not interested in orange juice and Sprite! Image found on The Funniest Animal 2017.
Pardon me, but can we talk about how pitiful the selection is in here? Image found on KittenToob.
Actually, I usually open the freezer door and stick my head in. It helps. Image found on Roaming Rosie.
Did you eat the last of the chicken? I wanted that! Image found on Pinterest.
What? You think I was trying to steal these steaks? I’m vegetarian! Image found on HuffPost UK.

Priorities: Plenty of cold drinks, and a cool pup. Image found on Pinterest.
Ooooh … can we get a six-pack? Image found on imgflip.
But if you want a chilly dog … Image found on cheezburger.
He’s not in a fridge, but Charlie is cool and comfy.

  1. “Climate change”? “Climate Change”? What “Climate Change”? Seriously, though, I have noticed some changes in the weather here during the sixty something years I have been alive.

  2. This reminds me that I purchased a large, square box fan just for my Golden Retriever to help keep him cool during the summer. He really loved his fan and would sit in front of it for hours. One day when the electricity was off, he kept sniffing at the fan and looking at me as if wanted to ask why the fan was not working.

  3. I have a side-by-side fridge/freezer and have been known to open both doors and stand in the middle. I don’t do heat. Period.

Climate change? Absolutely. Everything — heat, cold, wind, rain, drought — has become more extreme in recent years. You don’t have to be a degreed climatologist to see it.
