I had plans to do a different post today, but after trying and failing Saturday to find red velvet cake (unless I wanted to buy a whole bakery cake) for my birthday, I returned home too pooped to pop.
Friday night, birthday twin Sarah and I celebrated our birthday at Root Cafe with our friend Kathy. It was all delicious, and the bread pudding with a candle for us to blow out was yummy, but it wasn’t red velvet, dang it. Still, it was a good birthday weekend, and today is my oldest brother Mitch’s birthday. Years ago he almost got a sister for his birthday. This year, I almost got the arctic hammer he’s getting today. Not sure which of us is luckier.
Enjoy this little clip of my greatest fear, knowing my family. Maybe this is why I never had kids … who would do this to their poor mama on her birthday.
Very good! I think humor is a key element of love, and also of friendship.

In The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy by the late Douglas Adams, we are advised not to panic and to always carry a towel. According to this infamous book, “A towel is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have.”

If it was a chocolate cake instead of red velvet, I would have been glad to volunteer to help you eat it.

Glad you had a good birthday with your wonderful friend & “twin”!
I had a coworker who had the same birthday ad me & from the first we knew that, she called me, “Twinkie”!!! 🥰
Best wishes for a wonderful year!!!
