Sunday … wait, it’s Sunday already???

OK, so I forgot about the post till about 9:30 Saturday night … I blame Lin-Manuel Miranda. Hey, it was the Fourth of July, and it seemed like a good day to watch Hamilton.

And then I found this video that managed to parody Hamilton while using the message that we should be wearing masks if at all possible (yeah, I know, but it’s not infringing on your rights, so just wear it when you’re in public and stop being a baby about it). Enjoy, and don’t blame me when you’re humming the last bit all day. Or blame me. That’s your right.

  1. Enjoyed the parody, so maybe I should watch Hamilton. I’ve been avoiding it because with my faulty hearing (I’m old) I have rarely been able to understand the words in the rap and hip hop I run across now and then. I figured it’s probably important to be able to follow the story in a play.

Hope you had an enjoyable 4th. We decided to stay home. (112 days in a row)

    • When I watched it, I just kept imagining Mike Pence at that one performance, and I kept cracking up.

It was great, and it didn’t feel like two hours at all. Plus, there are some absolutely amazing voices I didn’t expect. The staging was incredible too; wish we could have done a rotating stage just once when I was in college, if just to see how it’s done.

I stayed home as well. My neighbors around the corner decided, as usual, to shoot off fireworks until almost midnight. Sigh.

  2. Saturday evening some of the fireworks my neighbors were shooting off sounded like someone was knocking on my front door repeatedly. It was either that or the fireworks sounded just like some of the bombs and other explosives I learned about while I was in the Navy. No, Marlow didn’t like the fireworks. He was whining and I had to try to reassure him.

    • Poor Marlow. Give that good boi head skritches from me. 🐶

Saturday’s fireworks were the worst, but my neighbor has been doing it every night at least since the last week of June. He was still shooting them off last night. He’s lucky I didn’t report him again. Grrrrr.
