About six and a half years ago (March 30, 2014, to be exact), I began the tradition of posting something happy on Sundays “to wrap up the weekend and hopefully head into Monday with a little bit of a better mood.”
On that day, I included Pharrell Williams’ “Happy” (and I do again today). I know that there are people right now who aren’t happy with how the presidential race turned out, and they’re digging in. The rest of us, though, are cautiously optimistic, if only for the fact that we won’t be pelted with misinformation/disinformation by our own government every second of the day. Plus, no one likes being berated (at least no one sane) by people they know and love just because we prefer facts over conspiracy theories, and love and kindness over hate and bitterness (before you start, don’t; you know it’s true).
And more than a few of us are just happy that The Count is popping up in people’s social media feeds again, so hush with the negativity. We’re having childhood happiness flashbacks over here.
Here’s the deal. We voted, and while it wasn’t the resounding repudiation many of us hoped for if just for the sake of our relationships with family and friends, it was a fair vote, and no fraud has been proven despite all the accusations being thrown around. We have a democratic republic (a lot of people tend to forget about the first part of that), and that’s what we voted for.

Now we have to work on healing our country, and get back to all living in the same reality. Pop those bubbles you’ve been living in, and step out into the sun (yeah, I know, it burns). Realize that while you may not agree with your neighbors, you’re living in the same universe. They are not your enemies because they’re a different race, religion, gender or political leaning from you. The free press is not your enemy. Hate for your fellow human, on the other hand, is.
A lot of us are exhausted from the chaos of the past four years. Excuse us while we do a few happy dances before getting back to work.

I am trying to send a message out to those Trump supporters who voted out of fear: You will be alight. Antifa is not going to riot and loot. Satanic cults are not going to kidnap babies to drink their blood. Nobody is going to move ISIS fighters into your neighborhood. Listen to Bobby McFerrin, “Don’t Worry; Be Happy” and Bob Marley, “Everything’s going to be alright.”

Grrr. I blame spellcheck. You will be ALRIGHT. Somehow “alight” sends the wrong message. Kinda like the irony of it though.

Considering I’ve been seeing talk of assassination and other violence …

I keep trying to tell them that, but they refuse to not be afraid, which is what they’ve been for four-plus years. Some of the rest of us are afraid, too, but it’s because of the very real danger that Trump supporters’ fears have created. Maybe if Obama really had taken all their guns away, we wouldn’t be as scared. 😏 Now, though, they’ll buy more guns because they’re sure Biden will try to take them. If only they realized that the NRA and the manufacturers it shills for are profiting off their fear.

I wasn’t clapping or dancing, but I was foot tapping. I’m still concerned about what might happen in the next two months, but at least I’m breathing again and hopeful again.

Me too. I’m just hoping that more people listen to their better angels, which have been ignored for the past four years.

I have been trying to urge and persuade people to pray for the vote counters. Also, I have been urging and trying to persuade people to pray for Joseph Biden and Kamala Harris since they seem to have won the election. I have been telling people we need to pray that Biden and Harris will have the wisdom to lead the United States wisely and well for the next four years.

Someone posted this morning that people need to realize there were a lot of Christians praying for Trump to win, but there were a lot of Christians praying for a Biden to win.

Since the infamous former sister-in-law believes that Roman Catholics are not real, genuine “Christians”, she doesn’t want Biden to win. She is praying that there will be a last minute miracle and Donald Trump will be our new Fearless and Faithful Leader.
