Sunday sound

I’m sure many of you are just as frustrated as I am that we’re back where we started, and, indeed, perhaps even worse off than before (which means get vaccinated and wear a mask, and get the booster when it’s available to you so that we can beat this crap; remember, the vast majority of the hospitalized and dying are unvaccinated).

So how do we deal with this never-ending pandemic? Parodies. They won’t make you forget what’s going on, but maybe you’ll get a laugh or two out of them.

While I don’t have kids, I feel your pain, parents.
C’mon, you knew I was going to include this one!
This was a year ago, people, and the song title still applies. That’s not good.
Ya wanna know how long? Until the virus no longer has enough live unvaccinated bodies to infect. Get vaccinated!

  1. Especially liked the first one, and the concluding “Sound of Science” could be the theme for a similar song or other use. I halfway related (well, maybe 90%) to the online statement: “You know you’re anti-social if the pandemic comes and your life isn’t changed all that much.” Oops.

  2. The first was my favorite too. I like to think I’m asocial, not antisocial, but my llifestyle hasn’t changed much. I worry a lot about my granddaughter starting a new school Monday (10th grade) and trying to make friends when everybody is masked. And I’m afraid I’ve become downright hostile toward the unvaccinated endangering the rest of us. Make them stay home in isolation.

    • That’s how I’ve been feeling, so much so that my unvaccinated brother and I have not been speaking much. I keep seeing posts from friends who have family in ICU, or are in ICU themselves, or who have been advised by their health-care providers that there is no space available in hospitals. Others are worried about their kids in areas where school boards didn’t go over the state’s head and impose a mask mandate.
I try to be understanding as a general principle, but I’ve lost every bit of patience and empathy with people who are so hostile to the idea of doing what’s best for the community as a whole. The reason we have breakthrough infections is because of the people who refused pandemic protocols and vaccination. Delta is so much more infectious that the people who were responsible and did everything right aren’t safe, and I resent that. Had more people been vaccinated and careful, the virus wouldn’t have had as much of a chance to mutate and spread further. But of course, pointing that out means I’m shaming people and being mean. If the shoe were on the other foot, I’d be called a snowflake. 🙄
