Sunday sweltery

Yes, I know I didn’t post last Sunday. When it’s hot, I can’t brain. And it’s supposed to be hotter this week. Sigh.

Guess who’s gonna be not moving a lot, eating mainly cold food, sticking her head in the freezer, sitting with ice packs and watching a lot of movies featuring cold locales this week?

Wake me when it’s 60 degrees.

It’s too hot to do anything. Clean? Ha! Image found on cheezburger.

Yes. I don’t like it, and neither did he. Image found on cheezburger.
I feel ya, squirrel. It’s way too hot to do acrobatics for bird seed. Image found on Top13.
Did you eat the rest of that leftover pupperoni pizza? I wanted that! Image found on The Funniest Animal 2017.
I replaced the bulb, you idiot. You’re welcome. Now close the door; it’s hot out there! Image from egotvonline.com.
What? I’m from the frosty North; Arkansas heat ain’t for me! Image found on PetsFive.

Could be worse, I guess. Still, I think I’d prefer the scent of cat pee over my own sweat. Image found on DumpADay.

  1. Interesting article by local historian in our Joplin MO newspaper the other day about the heat wave of 1954. That summer the top temp hit 105 or higher 25 times and one time reached 120! I recall it. Our house had only one “air conditioner”, a box with a fan that sucked air through water that dripped over straw-like stuff. I was 17 at the time and would put my head in the air stream just to catch my breath.

    • It’s supposed to get really bad this week here, and it’s already been hellish. At least I can hopefully count on some company in a cooler environment than my house for a day this week. I miss central air.
