Today we celebrate Christmaas. I’m spending the day with fur-nephew Charlie and probably having peppermint cocoa after my dinner of dressing, turkey tenderloins, carrots, potatoes and rolls and opening a couple of presents.
However you’re celebrating the day, enjoy it. Merry Christmas!
This sweet little boy is a great companion for Christmas, even when he’s yakking on the couch.
So far, at least, I’ve known the people who’ve texted. Image found on National Today.

Happy whatever-your-preference-is and a Happy New Year. 2022 has set the bar pretty low for 2023 to be a good year. Looking forward to it. Anybody seen my long johns? Warm trumps silly-looking.
With all that’s going on in the world I’m not sure I feel “merry” this yuletide but I’ll settle for satisfied, pampered and grateful. I’m feeling warmer than Ukrainians, better fed than most Africans, safer than Taiwanese, freer than Russians and more prosperous than the Brits. All the best to you and your fur-kin, Brenda!
On a more serious note (yes I am being punny), I prefer to quote a line from the song “So This Is Christmas” by the late John Lennon: “Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope it’s a good one without any fear.” For people who are unfamiliar with this song and have never heard it, I usually send them a link to this song on YouTube.
To mention something positive which is occurring right now–the temperature outside is actually temporarily above freezing for an hour or two (said the man who does not like cold weather).
Hi, Brenda. Wishing you all that’s best about the holidays. Heh, just occurred to me we’re both celebrating with Charlies. Great buddies, those guys. Stay warm!
I'm a retiree in his seventies. That may not be significant to many, since there is a bunch of us Baby Boomers around. However, in the year 2,000, when I received a diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma, I expected to be dead in three to five years.

Very true on all counts, Cuz. I’m wearing polka-dot pajama pants, and I don’t care. 😂

“Books for dogs”? I thought dogs preferred raw beef flavor dog treats instead (based on my experience).

Charlie is unhappy with the cold as well. I let him out for a couple of minutes yesterday, and he still wants to go back out. Silly kitty.

But Charlie has a nice and natural thick and heavy fur coat (unlike me).
