It’s a new year, finally, and let’s hope it’s a good one … don’t make any sudden moves … just walk in nice and quiet, and hopefully we’ll get out alive.

I'm a retiree in his seventies. That may not be significant to many, since there is a bunch of us Baby Boomers around. However, in the year 2,000, when I received a diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma, I expected to be dead in three to five years.

I often talk stink about 2022, but it’s important to realize that some good things happened. We’ve made good strives with progressive legislation and toward wiping away the Trump stains on our society (more to be done). And although the Putin war in Ukraine was a negative mark on the year, the American and NATO unified support of Ukraine was positive.
So, 2022 wasn’t all bad and let’s make 2023 much better.

That dancing dog is a better dancer than I am. However, he is right when he encourages us to dance more often.

If that was a chicken instead of a cat in the top picture, would it be called “Egg-ercise”? Yes I know that is an unfair and FOWL question but I just felt as if I had to ask it.

That raccoon (?) is how I look most mornings. But yes, Happy New Year. Let’s make it a good one.

Let’s hope! Charlie is starting the year just as he ended it: eck-ecking at birbs. I helped in that endeavor by refilling the feeders. 😂
I’d say that raccoon looks like Kevin the squirrel when he’s caught raiding the feeders, but he has no shame.

The squirrel has a name? Have he and Charlie been properly introduced?

He does indeed, as does the big-ass blue jay that often shows up (his name is Bill). Charlie wants to smack Kevin, but Kevin’s too fast for him, which is surprising considering his chonkiness. 🤣 Charlie mostly just eck-ecks at them and the other critters; Kevin has an entourage, and Bill will screech at him. Luckily Bill hasn’t been dive-bombing Charlie the way the blue jay at my house did Luke all those years ago.

When it came to squirrels, Marlow acted as if he wanted to kill them and eat them. He didn’t believe in playing with his food or being introduced to it either.
