Sunday stringy

It should be no surprise that I miss a lot of newer music (for one thing, since I got Lillie I’ve gotten hooked on the Sirius XM Broadway channel, so that’s usually what’s on in the car). This video kept popping up in my feed on YouTube, but I had never heard of the artist, and I was wary. Still, the algorithm would not be denied.

Damn if it wasn’t right. And now I need to hear more Molly Tuttle. Enjoy.

Maybe it was the costuming that put me off. I never thought a bluegrass cover of Jefferson Airplane’s “White Rabbit” would work.

  1. I have known about Molly Tuttle for a few years now. During the “lockdown” time of the COVID-19 pandemic when I had to stay at home most of the time (except when I went to work), I spent a lot of my evenings watching and listening to music videos on YouTube. A friend who teaches guitar lessons recommended that I watch videos of some guitarist named Tommy Emmanuel whom I had never heard of before. So I watched some of the videos of Emmanuel playing the guitar and was impressed. In one of the videos, there was a young woman named Molly Tuttle playing guitar duets with Emmanuel and I was impressed because she was just as good as Emmanuel.

  2. John Michael Talbot in my car – brings the peace I need so much of. A week of eye pain & looking at the world in 2 dimensions with that eye closed.

  3. Yes I have already watched this video of Molly Tuttle and Golden Highway performing “White Rabbit” and some other videos of Tuttle and her band. Did you know that Tuttle almost always wears a wig when she is performing in public? She lost most of her hair when she was a child because has what is called “alopecia”. This problem certainly doesn’t seem to have interfered with her guitar playing.

    • Yes there is a video on YouTube in which Tuttle is performing with her band, Golden Highway, and she removes her wig between songs because she says she is hot.
