Many of you know that my friend Sarah has adopted a new kitten, Ollie. You got to see a pic of him last Sunday and a couple more Wednesday, and now you get to see even more (I’ve posted several of them on Facebook and Threads, but not here yet). He really is too cute for words. I love my fur-nephews!
The first text I sent to Sarah when I got to her house last Saturday.
Clearly, working with Ollie around can be a challenge. Photo by Sarah Kinsey.
Friday was cat-cuddling day. I liked Friday.
He likes Greek yogurt. This was sweetened and had mix-ins, so I didn’t let him have any till the end.
A different approach to this toy, but that’s OK.
Charlie’s still not sure what to think of this little guy. I had to eh-eh Charlie a few times Friday and Saturday, but the hissing seems to have stopped for the most part. They’ll get there.
This is how Charlie does it, right?
The guy-liner just kills me.
I’ve been making sure to have one-on-one time with Charlie. Sometimes, though, Ollie shows up too.
Charlie was a little concerned this past weekend when Ollie started climbing HIS cat tree (he stopped on the level with the hammock under the top level). I tried getting pics of Ollie in the hammock, but he wouldn’t stay still long enough for them to be anything but a blur.
Yesterday the neighbor who brought him to Sarah came by to see how the boys were getting along. Of course, Charlie didn’t raise a paw while she was there. 😂
Pictures, please, 🤣🤣🤣
There is a definite thaw, but I think it will be a little while longer before they’re cuddling up together. Charlie’s a good boy who’s been alone too long. I’m sure he still misses cuddling with his doggie sister Josie.
They’re wonderful boys. Sarah said they both had major zoomies last night and both woke her at 4 for breakfast. I can’t wait for her son John to meet Ollie when he comes for Christmas.
You don’t know just how true that statement is. My dog and my daughter’s cat grew up together, played together for hours. I always noticed that whenever the cat got sick and tired of the dog, he would find a space to escape that my dog couldn’t find.
Sometimes it’s from other cats. Though Ollie and Charlie are getting closer, they tend for now to keep to different rooms. They actually sat on the sofa together for about five minutes yesterday, Sarah told me. Most of the time, wherever Ollie is, Charlie isn’t.
I'm a retiree in his seventies. That may not be significant to many, since there is a bunch of us Baby Boomers around. However, in the year 2,000, when I received a diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma, I expected to be dead in three to five years.
What can I say? I’m a cat lady too. Love, love, love!

Well, I’m not a cat lady (okay, that was one time when I was very drunk) but he is a cute kitten. I bet Charlie will warm up to him.

I wonder if there’ll be cats in Heaven. I’m sure there’ll be dogs. 😂

There will be cats. But no dogs allowed in their safe space. 😉
