Thanks for today’s post go to Sarah Kinsey, who texted me this tweet Friday morning.
I thought I’d share a few more such serendipitous pairings. Enjoy!

I'm a retiree in his seventies. That may not be significant to many, since there is a bunch of us Baby Boomers around. However, in the year 2,000, when I received a diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma, I expected to be dead in three to five years.

Speaking of dancing: I went to a stunning performance of Swan Lake by Ballet Arkansas last night at the Robinson. We should be proud to have a nationally recognized company here in Arkansas.

Thank you Brenda (and Sarah). All of these people are better dancers than I am. I had a paying gig Friday evening playing my acoustic string bass with the band for the Arkansas Country Dance Society. This Society does what is called “contra dancing”. It is similar to square dancing and ballroom dancing but it is simpler and easier to learn.

Besides myself on bass, we had a piano player, four fiddles, one mandolin, one flute, and one rhythm guitar in the band for this dance.

I endured a performance of Swine Lake on television many years ago mainly because I wanted to listen to the glorious music which Peter Tchaikovsky composed for this ballet.

I’m not sure, but I don’t think they included Christopher Walken in that clip. Most people don’t know that he has some mad dance skills. It was going to be his career until he broke into movies.

There are a lot of actors who are better dancers than you would think. Someone should make a mashup with just those people some time.

I think I know the reason why they seldom make extravagnt musicals now. It just can’t be done any better than in the old days. ”Chicago” is one exception, my all-time favorite.
