Sunday powder keg

One more day until the North American total solar eclipse, which means I feel obligated today to inflict upon you the peak-1980s (the hair, the dancing, the billowing curtains, etc.) video for Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart.”

My fellow Gen-Xers will likely sing along. Sorry about that.

  1. Since I am at work and on duty right now, I am not planning to do any singing. The nurses and the doctors have jobs which are difficult enough already without trying to make them listen to my pitiful and pathetic attempts to torture them by trying to sing. And I am not even “Gen X”, I am a so-called “Baby Boomer”.

  2. I LOVE this song. Played it endlessly. It came out about the same time as my divorce and was practically my theme song for a while. I was such a Tyler fan.

Aren’t you the lucky one, living right in the path of totality! I assume you have your glasses and are ready to go, and hope your weather cooperates.

    • I was always singing this when it came out, and still do. I’m sure I probably loved the video too, then, though now it makes me laugh. Bonnie Tyler still rocks!
My glasses are out in the car, so I’ll have to go get them sometime today. I’ll be working tomorrow, but I’ll take a break to go watch it. And now I have to go write my column, dang it.
