My sneezes aren’t as dainty as this … and now it’s mostly coughs. Fun! Image found on Paws and Effect.
It should be no surprise I’m no fan of really cold weather, so I’m not enjoying the recent turn here. It might have something to do with the illness that is now hitting my lungs and making it harder to breathe. Or it could be that I feel the cold in every joint in my body. Or it may just be that I hate putting on and taking off layers all day. That’s just too much work.
But at least we don’t have snow yet, like some in Texas. So there’s that, anyway.
Right there with ya, buddy. Image found on Pinterest.
This why outside is a bad idea this time of year. GIF found on imgur.
And the cat must be warm. There is no alternative. Image found on Fun Cat Pictures.
I told you I was freezing my butt off! Image found on York Professional Pet Sitting.
So yeah, the snow is not only yellow, it’s furry too. Image found on apisanet.
Why do you think I have so many blankets? And they’re allllll miiiiinnnnneeee. Image found on Pinterest.
Don’t even ask about my butt … Image found on tridanim.
Can I just stay here all day? Image found on My Memes.
I identify with the Dalmatian puppy. I’m not crazy about cold weather, although I enjoy some crispness in the air. My Central and South Texas family and friends are ecstatic about the snow. After living in Kansas for three years and then here for about ten, I believe snow is highly overrated. Stay warm!!
I like it when it’s between 50 and 60. It’s nice and crisp without freezing you. Really cold and really hot can just go away and I’ll be ecstatic.
Snow would be OK here except that it usually has a layer of ice. Ice is no fun.
I wish I could say yes. I took the day off today to take care of several things, but am dealing with nausea and back spasms at the moment. It’s always something.
My mom said my voice is getting closer to Barry White territory. I’d prefer it stay at Al Green. 🎤
I am sorry to read that you do not feel better. I hope your condition improves tomorrow. If your voice really does sound like Barry White, maybe you could make a few dollars as a Barry White impersonator?(he suggested jokingly)
I was born and raised in Chicago and I agree completely with Sarah Kinsey Ricard when she says that snow is “highly overrated”. I work at the Veterans Hospital and I have been told that I am “essential personnel” which means that I must try to get to work no matter how bad the weather is. Yes I do know how to drive both in and on the snow. No I do not like driving in the snow. Have I ever had to drive to work in an ice storm? Unfortunately yes–it is not a pleasant memory.
I love Chicago, but I’d have to live elsewhere in the winter. I loved snow when I was a kid (and snow ice cream), but as an adult who has to work, nope. And ice storms are the worst. I can at least work from home, but still have to get in if at all possible.
I'm a retiree in his seventies. That may not be significant to many, since there is a bunch of us Baby Boomers around. However, in the year 2,000, when I received a diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma, I expected to be dead in three to five years.
Cool column today.

The layer of ice and power outages take all the fun out of snow.

Too true. And people here have no idea how to drive on ice … or at all.
