With any luck, those of us in places that do the whole Daylight Saving Time thing got an extra hour of sleep last night. That extra hour is the only good thing about Daylight Saving Time as far as I’m concerned. OK, that and the memes.

Good question. Apparently we just really like spending an hour twice a year changing every timepiece we own that doesn’t change itself. Sigh.

When my stomach tells me it’s time to eat, I eat. That means you feed me. Now.

I’m with Maxine on this one.
Also, the extra hour is all conceptual. I decided I would sleep in a bit today, and when I got out of bed, I found it was an hour earlier than I thought. So much for sleeping in.

True. I tend to stay up a little later, so it’s a wash.
There really is no good reason to do it anymore.

So you need a new stove Brenda? Would you like to buy mine? I purchased it brand new from Sears last year.

Thanks, but not right now. I have to take care of some other stuff before I get a new stove. There’s always something.

On two occasions, I was working overtime from midnight to eight a.m. at the hospital when it was time to change the clocks one hour forward or one hour backward. Yes it was confusing but we managed. When we set the clocks backward, I got paid for working seven hours instead of eight. When we set the clocks forward, I got paid for working nine hours instead of eight.

I’m lucky that I never had to do a true overnight in my working life. I started on overnights when I was at a TV station, but I was on the prime-time shift a couple of weeks later, just before the time change.
