Sunday sojourn

I’m still at home, and I don’t really mind so much except for the constant reminders of things I need to get done that I don’t really feel like doing. (I swear I will get some plants in the ground today. I mean it!) But eventually I will have to get out in the world, and it’s going to be weird. There will be awkward conversations, things I’ll see someone doing that will make me cringe since I’ll be thinking of the germs … and there will be smiles and laughs with people I’ve missed seeing for over a year. The people I haven’t missed? Not so much.

That day I went in to the office to prep for cleaning and a computer upgrade, I couldn’t remember people I’ve worked with for years.
Some of these things I already didn’t do because I don’t know where other people have been.
It will take some adjusting once we’re back, so take care of yourself, and know that others are willing to help.

  1. Rachel Maddow made a good point regarding the new CDC recommendations. Now when you see someone in public without a mask, you can’t assume they’re a right-wing Trumplican anti-vaxer. They might be a fully vaccinated Social Democrat who’s still washing their hands and distancing.

    • True. But they could also be anti-masker anti-Vaxxers (say that five times fast) who are lying about being vaccinated, which is why the cautious among us will remain masked and social-distanced and wash our hands a lot. Sigh.

  2. Yep. I’m not ready to ditch the precautions if I’m around strangers. And I worry about children too young to be vaccinated. Great little disease vectors they are, even if not personally at great risk.
