Thanksgiving is over, and December has begun, so I don’t feel guilty sharing this. I’m not one of those people who tries to hurry other holidays along so I can get to Christmas, if you haven’t guessed. I want to give holidays their due as best I can. Commercialization of Christmas has meant that it’s taken over everything and you can’t go to stores without seeing Christmas stuff as early as June or July (sorry, I’m NOT thinking about Christmas when it’s 90+ degrees).
I’m starting off the Christmas season with this hauntingly beautiful version of “The Wexford Carol” from Yo-Yo Ma and Alison Krauss (how can you go wrong with this combo?). Enjoy, and season’s greetings.
Lovely. I don’t recall ever hearing this before now.

A wonderful interim pause between FaceTime with my 102-year-old mother and an ASO concert here in the Village. Enjoy the day.

Yes I do like the “Wexford Carol” but “Mary Had A Baby” is still my favorite Christmas song. Yes I have played both songs in Christmas concerts in December at various times in the past with different groups of mixed up mixed nuts who are crazy enough to believe that we are actually musicians.

I’ve always liked Allison Krauss. To me, she projects all the sweetness of femininity.
