Few newspaper editors like doing corrections (those who do need therapy), but sometimes it has to be done. I’ve had my share, but I can honestly say none of them were as funny as these.

Sad but true … we just have to be more creative with our reasons for the mistakes, since it’s not like we can blame it on the typesetters anymore. 😉
And then there are the intentional ones, like the guy at our paper long ago who snuck “I like big boobs” into the sports agate …

Reminds me of when I was an editor for an educational publisher and somebody stuck “motherf****r” into a word puzzle and it almost got through and into print.

As I recall, it was discovered by one of the old female editors who asked someone about it because she didn’t know what it meant.

Reminds me of one of my old bosses who seemed offended when I reminded her that part of our job is to think dirty before the readers do. Most readers would be shocked if half the stuff we stopped got through. “-D
