Sunday sabbatical

Amanda was a gorgeous bride. My phone wasn’t up to the task, unfortunately.

I wasn’t necessarily going to post today anyway since I had my nephew’s wedding this weekend, but now I’m stuck where I am because somehow I lost my car key. Of course, no parts department is open at any nearby Chevy dealer (the two that had Saturday hours were already closed). As I write this, I’m waiting on a locksmith to come to cut a new key so I can get home, hopefully, tomorrow and then go about getting at minimum a new fob or two (my spare key with the non-working fob is at home in my briefcase) from my dealership this week.

Sigh. As my friend Sarah said, I need a nap. So yeah, no post.

    • Since it was a Saturday, I was pretty much screwed. But the locksmith who cut new keys for me said I could put in an insurance claim since I have full coverage and hopefully get most of the cost of the first new key back. What’s really weird is that after I took my shower this morning, I couldn’t find my comb, which I had used yesterday, and which was on the bathroom counter. No one else was in the room, so apparently my comb and original keys are hanging out somewhere in the Bermuda Triangle. 😂

  1. Our Lexus RX330, reliable and comfortable, is 17 years old, but its two keys were not as reliable as the car. The plastic on both broke. On learning the cost of replacements, I super-glued ’em back. Still going strong but I’m probably in trouble if I have to replace the button batteries a second time.

    • I’m going to see if a locksmith can program new fobs because unlocking and locking the car manually is a pain in the a**. Last time I asked about new fobs at the dealership (I had one that was nonfunctional; of course it was the functional one that was lost), it was something like $300 for the fobs and programming, which is why I hadn’t replaced the useless one. Argh.
