This past week has been horrible (except for those indictments Friday). We thus need something to take our minds off it. No funny animals this time, just relaxation. As the elder Mr. Constanza would say, “Serenity now!”

I'm a retiree in his seventies. That may not be significant to many, since there is a bunch of us Baby Boomers around. However, in the year 2,000, when I received a diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma, I expected to be dead in three to five years.

Relax, Earl. Take a deep breath.

Yes, relax, Earl. You’re getting very sleepy … Oh, wait, that’s me. 😉

I need this. Relaxing is so hard for me, even during non-stressful times. I gave up social media for Lent, not to avoid the news but to avoid over saturation. Also, I spend too much time checking Facebook and Twitter. I also need to pet more cats.

Petting cats is always good. Social media not so much.

I think a person would be something less than human if these images didn’t soothe, awe, and humble. (But that doesn’t mean I’m not petting the fur off my dog and cat!) Thanks for the de-stressors.

God bless National Geographic and everyone else that does this kind of work. Leave the furkids some fur. 😉

My furkid, a Golden Retriever, has too much fur and he sheds too much during the summer.

I know it might be tempting to give him a spring haircut now (lord, 70 degrees?), but don’t yet … If it gets really cold again before spring, you’ll have a pissed pup. I don’t wanna read about you in the police beat. 😉

I have never given Marlow the Golden Retriever a haircut but I do take him to the dog grooming place once a month for a bath. I am not going to be in the police beat for that because Marlow just absolutely loves it when female human beings are fussing over him and he is the center of attention. In some ways, he is a typical male. The employees of the dog grooming place are all women.

My buddy Wayne’s dog Gizmo was like that. He was a bit wary of men, but would fall all over himself for women. I miss Giz. He was Luke’s best friend for a good long while. Now he and the boy are playing in heaven.

Marlow is very wary of other men but he doesn’t act like that towards women. When my sister came from Texas to visit last month, she brought Marlow a raw beef flavor treat and two new toys–one of which made squeaking noises. He quickly decided that he like my sister and he wanted me to keep her.

I used to give Giz squeaky toys when I wanted to tweak Wayne a little (he’s like a little brother). He really loved the squeaky cow I got him. 🐄 Wayne started hiding it because Giz liked to okay with it in the middle of the night. He still found it, though. 🐕

Right now Marlow is not too happy with me because it is still raining. He seems to think I can control the weather despite what I tell him. He was a good dog earlier when he went outside in the rain to “do his business”. When he came in, I temporarily made him happy by drying him off with a towel. Yes I did have to go outside with him.

You are he who brings the food, so you’re obviously God. You should thus be able to stop the rain, so get on it, bud! 🌧
