Sunday sopping

As my neighbors to the southwest deal with Harvey, now a tropical storm but still very dangerous (as I write this, one person has been confirmed dead), let’s try for something a little light-hearted. Lord knows we need it.

It’s very important to know your hurricane categories.

Here I am … rock you like a hurricane … yeah, I never get tired of that.

When the dogs show up, though …

And tuna. Lots and lots of tuna.

Toddler hurricanes are dangerous indeed, but usually don’t result in flooding … unless they put toys in the toilet.

And not a moment too soon. I don’t like when my paws get wet.

Why am I out here? I’m not Al Roker!

But no, they have to be boring … or named after invisible 6-foot-tall bunnies.

If you’re nice, you won’t have to sit with the snakes and skunks.

  1. I loved the hurricane story in which a man was stranded on the roof of his house when a rescue boat came by. “No thanks,” he replied, “The Lord will save me.” Later, another boat came by and received the same wave-off reply. Finally, as the water was lapping onto his roof, a rescue helicopter offered to pick him up, and again, he gave the same reply.

The water rose further and he drowned.

In heaven, he whined to God, “Why did you abandon me? I trusted in you and you let me die.”

God responded, “Don’t blame me. I sent two boats and a helicopter.”

  2. Yes cats are fine creatures. If you don’t believe me, just ask one. I am sure the cat will be glad to tell you in detail what an excellent creature it is.
