OK, I was stuck on a topic for today. It’s my youngest brother’s birthday today, but you guys don’t know him, soo … In casting about for a subject, I found that January is a national or international month for a lot of things, most apparently having to do with getting healthy or organized, or awareness of some serious thing or another. Sundays are not serious here unless absolutely necessary, and considering someone seems to want us to be at war with the world, I think we all need something to take our minds off it.
So I give you … National Walk Your Pet Month. Some say dog, some say pet … if you can put a leash on it, you can certainly try. I tried with Luke a few times, and he figured out how to pull his collar and the leash off. I then tried a harness … and he just fell over and refused to budge. Some cats enjoy it, but Luke wasn’t one of them, so his harness and leash went to the shelter for a critter who would tolerate it better. I have a feeling he’s up in heaven right now laughing at all the people trying to walk their cats. Stupid hoomins.

It was just as well that Luke hated the leash and harness since he turned out to be allergic to grass. Unless he was faking.

Luke didn’t go up a tree; he went under the back porch, which was how he figured out how to get the leash off.

January is National Bath Safety Month.
And my birthday (the 8th) is Bubble Bath Day.
I sense a trend there.

Casting about for a subject? Instead of a fish? Were you sitting on the casting couch while you did this? In a hospital, the term “casting couch” has a different meaning from what people normally think of. The casting couch is where a patient sits while a cast is being placed on their arm or their leg.
